Plastic Packaging

Plastic Packaging Is Available In Many Types

Plastics have changed the world and there are many types of plastic packaging today, in every conceivable sphere of industry.  The most typical type of plastic packaging that most people get in contact with on a daily basis is the normal soft plastic bag.  This type of plastic packaging is used in grocery stores, fruit and vegetable stores and butcheries, among others.

Plastic packaging like soft plastic bags are made in any colour imaginable and in almost any size.  The thickness of the plastic is measured in microns.  One micron is one-thousandth of a millimetre.  The larger the bag, the thicker it has to be so it does not tear when fully packed.  For example, a 1 kg beetroot plastic packaging bag may have a wall thickness of 35 micron, but a 10 kg bag's thickness would be 75 micron.  Ice bags can become very big and the largest type measures 350 mm x 790 mm and necessitates a wall thickness of 100 micron to maintain its strength when it is full of ice.  Plastic packaging is extremely versatile and a professional plastic packaging supplier would be able to provide you with any type of plastic bag for any purpose, whether you want a meat, fruit or wood back or even just a large refuse bag.

However, polyethylene and polypropylene bags are also seen as plastic packaging.  Knitted vegetable pockets are made of virgin high-density polyethylene of monofilament or filler stitch construction and knitted into a strong mesh.  Despite being like a net, this material is very strong and bags with a capacity of up to 25 kg easily take the strain when filled with vegetables.  Woven vegetable pockets and circular woven backs are made of polypropylene.  All these bags are also offered in a variety of sizes and colours.
